Prepared Motions for Asia Junior Championships - Debate (Summer Edition) 2025
22 August 2025
Like last year, the Asia Junior Championships – Debate (Summer Edition) will feature a dynamic mix of impromptu and prepared rounds, designed to challenge participants in different ways. The impromptu rounds will push teams to think quickly and adapt on the spot, while the prepared rounds allow for deeper research, refined arguments, and strategic case-building.
To give teams the opportunity to plan ahead, the prepared motions for Round 2 and the Grand Finals are released below—two weeks before the tournament. We look forward to seeing the creativity, insight, and persuasive power that these topics will inspire on debate day.

This house believes that we should ban TV programs that glorify crime.
Info
TV programs that glorify crime, like those portraying characters similar to the Joker often frame criminals as charismatic antiheroes, emphasizing style, wit, or tragedy over the harm they cause. Other examples include Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and Suicide Squad.
Motion
This house believes that schools should allow students to protest during schooling hours.
Info
School student protests are organized or individual demonstrations where young people voice their views on issues like climate change, education policy, or social justice. One example of this is Greta Thunberg who, while she was a school student, skipped school to demand urgent climate action.
