Shanghai Northeast Asian Debating Championships (School Category) 2026
The Northeast Asian Debating Championships (“NEADC”) Schools Division is an in-person international tournament for student debaters aged 7 to 18. Hosted in China this November, the competition follows the Asian 3v3 format and welcomes participants from around the world. Over several days of rounds, students engage with complex issues, learn to think critically, and experience the excitement of debating on an international stage.
Unlike the university division, which is limited to teams from Northeast Asia, the Schools Division has no regional restrictions. Past editions have brought together young debaters from East and Southeast Asia, Australia, and other parts of the world. All contingents are accompanied by an adult, ensuring students are supported and supervised throughout the event.
The most recent edition took place in Hangzhou, China from 13-17 November 2025, where students gathered for several days of debates, cultural exchange, and new friendships. For many participants, it was their first experience debating internationally—an opportunity to meet peers from different countries while representing their schools on a larger stage.

Our Legacy
Where young voices lead
The NEADC Schools Division is built on a simple belief: young people have ideas worth hearing. In the Asian 3v3 format, students step into debates that ask them to think carefully, speak clearly, and respond thoughtfully to the world around them. Each round becomes a space where arguments are tested and perspectives are challenged.
For many participants, this is also their first experience debating alongside students from different countries and backgrounds. NEADC Schools is more than a competition. It is where young debaters find their voice and take their first steps into the wider debating community.
