Shanghai Northeast Asian Debating Championships 2026
The Northeast Asian Debating Championships (colloquially known as “NEADC”) is the annual debating competition for university institutions across the Northeast Asian region.
NEADC follows the British Parliamentary Debating format, renowned for its intellectual rigour, strategic depth, and dynamic clash of ideas. Each year, the championship attracts over 80 university teams from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, South Korea, and Japan, firmly establishing itself as one of the region’s most competitive and prestigious university debating tournaments.
The 2025 edition of NEADC was held in person from 13 to 17 of November, in Hangzhou, China, hosted by EduDrift Singapore. The reigning champions, Sunghyun Park and Ryosei Kobayashi from Hitotsubashi University, emerged victorious in a fiercely contested final, further enriching the tournament’s legacy as a proving ground for Northeast Asia’s finest debaters.
