14 June 2025
Last year, this tournament brought together 270 participants, making it the largest online juniors debate tournament in the world—and we’re just as excited to raise the bar this year. Similar to last year, the tournament features a mix of impromptu and prepared rounds to test both quick thinking and deep strategy.
Below are the prepared motions for Round 2 and the Grand Finals, released ahead of time so teams can plan, prep, and come ready to deliver their sharpest cases.

This house believes that parents should not promote university education as the primary path to success in life.
Info
University education is often viewed as a standard route to career stability, higher income, and social status. However, alternative paths such as vocational training, entrepreneurship, and creative industries also lead to successful and fulfilling lives.

This house believes that the feminist movement should oppose popular fairy tales which portray traditional gender roles.
Info
Many classic fairy tales, such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White, portray female protagonists as passive, gentle, and dependent on external rescue—often by a male hero. These characters are frequently valued for their beauty, obedience, and kindness rather than their agency or decision-making. In contrast, male characters like princes are typically cast as brave, active saviors who resolve the central conflict and determine the story’s outcome, reinforcing traditional gender expectations of women as caregivers and men as protectors.
