Prepared Motions for Asia Pacific Junior Debate 2026

With just two weeks remaining, the countdown to the Asia Pacific Junior Debate Championships 2026, taking place on 27–28 June, is officially underway. As the first major junior debate championship of the year, it marks the beginning of an exciting season of competition and learning.
Throughout the tournament, participants will face a mix of impromptu and prepared debates, challenging them to think on their feet while also demonstrating the depth of their preparation. To support this process, we are pleased to release the prepared motions for Round 2 and the Grand Finals.
We encourage teams to begin exploring these topics, developing their arguments, and engaging thoughtfully with the issues before the tournament. We look forward to seeing the creativity, analysis, and advocacy that teams bring to the Asia Pacific Junior Debate Championships 2026.

This House would ban the use of ghostwriters in the entertainment industry (e.g., for music, celebrity books, and social media).

A ghostwriter is a professional writer who is paid to write a book, song, speech, or social media post for someone else. Once the work is finished, the ghostwriter is paid a fee but receives no public credit. Instead, the piece is published under the name of the famous celebrity, politician, musician, or influencer, making it look as though they wrote it themselves.
