Warwick Public Speaking Championships
The Warwick Public Speaking Championships is a dedicated platform for students aged 7 to 18 to develop and showcase their communication skills. Set against the academic backdrop of the University of Warwick, the event invites young speakers to express ideas with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
The championship follows the Modified WIDPSC format, featuring three speaking segments: interpretive reading, persuasive speaking, and impromptu speaking. This structure allows students to demonstrate a wide range of abilities—from delivery and interpretation to organisation, creativity, and on-the-spot thinking.
More than a competition, the Warwick Public Speaking Championships provides a meaningful space for growth. It is where young speakers discover their voice, build confidence, and strengthen their skills in an environment shaped by academic rigour and a commitment to excellence.
